Arq provides a highly effective and dependable backup solution for any kind of data. It can encrypt files and folders and upload them to various cloud services, in that order. What's more, everything can be done automatically. In addition, the application places a good number of controls at your disposal, to allow you to fine tune your backup operations. Installing Arq can be done just like with any other Mac OS X applications. You can try it free of charge for 30 days, without any kind of functionality restrictions.

Folders that are scheduled for a backup operation are displayed on the left half of a compact user interface, beneath their corresponding backup destinations. You can also find a corresponding restoration entry for each backup process, in the same area of the interface. If the application is connected to a cloud service, targeting a local folder, through a standard Open dialog is sufficient to back up its contents.

Backup operations are executed automatically every hour. You can exclude specific files if you want to, for each targeted folder. Alternatively, you can set up filters, to exclude files that match one or more naming criteria. Backup operations can be executed manually as well, through an icon on the menu bar.

When it comes to restoring backed up data, the application lets you choose between different versions of the same files. Arq creates different backup and restore entries for each day, so you can restore your data, regardless if you delete it or modify it.
